Growing up, we are taught that it is better to give than to receive. But in reality, we need to have our giving and our receiving be balanced in order to be in the best place in all of our relationships.

And if you think about it, when you give to someone – no matter what you are giving – in return you are receiving as well. But so many of us do not allow ourselves to receive when we give.

Do you give your time volunteering?

Do you give your abilities to serve others in your business or even a 9 to 5 job?

Do you give your money to help others in need?

When you are giving, what are you receiving in return?

When you volunteer your time, you are receiving the satisfaction of being able to help someone or an organization. But do you accept that satisfaction of helping someone?

When you give your abilities to serve others, what do you receive in return? Do you accept payment for your services, or are you giving your services away for free?

It has become human nature to give and give and give, and not allow ourselves to receive. And because we don’t allow ourselves to receive, we end up asking questions such as;

  • “When is it going to be my turn?”
  • “Why doesn’t anyone ever help me?”
  • “Why do I never receive money for what I do?”

But these questions come up because you aren’t allowing yourself to actually receive. It has been programmed into your psyche to give and give and give and not actually receive anything in return.

But we need to have this giving and receiving more in balance to feel much better about our lives and those we serve.

the power of receiving

In The Power of Receiving by Amanda Owen, Ms. Owen has spent decades doing research as to why we as humans don’t allow ourselves to receive. She has run experiments and programs based around receiving. And each experiment and program had amazing results using the work she taught her clients. And she shares this work in her book.

Just by reading The Power of Receiving and doing the exercises that Amanda has provided has really changed my life. I met my goal that I set to bring in a certain amount of money by December 1. I worked hard on this goal and did the work, both as provided by Amanda and everything else I had to do as well. So now I have created a list of 5 different goals, that all relate to different areas of my life, that I am working on diligently and regularly every single day. This book is a big life changer, but just like anything else, it’s up to you to do the work and see the change happen.

I would highly recommend The Power of Receiving to absolutely anyone who would like to finally receive more in their life. You could want to receive anything –

  • Better health
  • More money
  • A better job
  • — the list is endless

Just pick up this book and start reading it right now and applying the exercises and principles that Amanda teaches. Everything that Amanda teaches really does work wonders, you just have to actually be open to applying it and then apply it to your life!

This book actually popped up in my recommended books while I checking out The Law of Divine Compensation by Marianne Williamson, and while I ultimately got both books, I had to read this one first and if I didn’t have to work, I would have had this book finished in a single day. 🙂 I love reading and learning all of these amazing new principles and then applying them. So if you have been using the Law of Attraction and it hasn’t been working for you properly, check out this book and see where you really have been going wrong. It really opened my eyes to what I had been doing wrong, which was simple – I wasn’t actually open to receiving.
